CURSE OF THE SPIDER KING!!!!!! Dun Dun Da

Curse of the spider king is the book I’m reading in class for an independent novel study. I like this book so far because it is action filled and the main characters are my age. The book is on seven thirteen year olds and friends teachers and all that kind of stuff but anyway. So far in the book I’ve read about all seven of the teenagers. Right now in the book all of them have been getting followed by as strange man who they have never seen or known. Most of the kids have been getting “gifts” . The gifts are books which take them into another world full of Elves and their enemies the Gwars. The elves are all in one big city called Berinfell. There are seven colonies of elves who live there. Then there is the Gwars. These guys are spider riding assassins for an evil overlord called the spider king.  The kids names are Tommy Bowman, Autumn Brairman and Johnny Brairman who are siblings but Johnny’s the thirteen year old, James “Jimmy” Lewis Gresham, Kat Simonson, Kiri Lee and Jett Green. What I’ve found interesting so far in the book is that three of the kids have gotten strange abilities. Kat has the ability to read and see peoples thoughts, Tommy has very good accuracy with a bow and arrow( which he never had before.) and Jett has the ability to be able to heal extremely quickly. So if your ever looking for a good book look for this series. Bye

Methane Melt: The Most Important Story You Don’t Follow

I was told by Mr.Fisher to look for a topic to write about and I stumbled upon this subject on global warming.  I found this topic on my igoogle. When I found this I thought that its so true that we don’t follow whats happening with global warming. Its ruining our planet and we aren’t even following it to see whats going on and if we can stop it. I think that people need to find out  what they can do to help stop global warming. Here is a scientist talking about how its to early to tell if dangerous amounts of methane are being released into the atmosphere.

At the Worldchanging website, Natalie Shakhova says:

“it was too soon to say whether the findings suggest that a dangerous release of methane looms. In a telephone news conference, she said researchers were only beginning to track the movement of this methane into the atmosphere as the undersea permafrost that traps it degrades. But climate experts familiar with the new research reported in Friday’s issue of the journal Science that even though it does not suggest imminent climate catastrophe, it is important because of methane’s role as a greenhouse gas. Although carbon dioxide is far more abundant and persistent in the atmosphere, ton for ton atmospheric methane traps at least 25 times as much heat.”

Thats crazy how much heat we will get because of methane. That means that cows are the main source of global warming and all the heat from the atmosphere. I think I will eat more beef to help save the world from global warming. I mean come on the cows we eat create 2 million tons of methane a year. They create more methane than the humans in Canada. I say we kill the cows and live longer lives with out global warming. What do you think about that. If you want to tell me something just leave a comment on the blog and I will get back to you.

Did you know that there is a huge hole in the ozone lair above Australia. The hole is bigger than the continent. Thats crazy no wonder they have extremely hot summers. I have friends from there they came to Canada and it was winter here and they were having summer there. It can be very hot in the summer in Australia with the UV rays from the sun.

This is a chart of the methane levels from 2004 to 20o8. the black line is what it should be and the red ling is what it was. Thats crazy how much the methane levels have risen in 2008.

My life 2

I have checked my comments and I have seen multiple comments on there that are asking form more information on what has happened in my life. I did see one comment asking how big my scar was and I’ll tell you that the scar is about a foot and a half long and it goes right across my stomach. Last time I talked about it I was 12 now I’m 13 and I still have the scar most say I’ll have it for life and some say it’ll go away eventually. I’m pretty sure it’ll last a life time but I’m okay I haven’t had to get the chemo therapy since I was 2. Not much has happened other than when I went moose hunting with my dad and I was hitching up the quad trailer and I hit the hot exuast pipe. It was hot enough that it had burned through my glove and burned the skin off my hand. Then two weeks later I burned my elbow on the opposite arm that I burned my hand. Once I had healed from that burn I burned right across it again and That hurt. Now I have loads of scars all over the place bout mostly on my arms. But Thats about it for my life right now so once something happens I’ll right it so keep reading.

Rosa Parks HERO or ZERO ??

Is Rosa parks a hero or a zero. To most she maybe a hero for standing up against racism on the 1955 December 1. When she didn’t give up her seat to a white male when the bus driver asked her to. After she had said no she was arrested. Four days later she was convicted of disorderly conduct. I have a saying that Rosa Parks said the day of her arrest.

All I was doing was trying to get home from work. I got this saying from the CNN news site.

Five examples of her heroism is when she had shown her right by not standing up on the bus. She started the Montgomery Bus Boycott. She also ended segregation. She stood up for human rights. She had the courage to stand up to police officers. These are my five reasons that Rosa Parks is a hero.

RACISM

Racism is one of the major causes suicides in the world. Over 62 million people have died in the past 100 years from racism. 62 million is to large of a number for deaths we need to stop racism because it is what caused the Holocaust. That is crazy because the Holocaust was a world changing event. Another thing is the Holocaust was a racial event and it alone has killed 11 million people and when it happened a nation tried to wipe out a whole entire race. Racism is a serious crime so don’t become a criminal. Some of the effects are Self hate, Self loathing, Self harm issues, Suicide, Depression,Eating disorders, Fear of going to school/public places (agoraphobia), Bullying, Knife and gun crime and Panic attacks.

Another form of racism is enslavement where they would take men, women and even children and turn them into slaves. What I’m about to show you is some forms of torture that they did because they thought that the people they enslaved were only for slave work and were worth nothing. branding, whipping, chaining, mutilation, etc. Some were even made a public spectacle. Some slaves were made to endure what is called the “cold water treatment”, where a slave stands under a water pump and is drenched.

My solutions to racism is to help people understand what what people are good at and how that can help them get along better. Another solution would be to make more schools that all races can go to for their education.

This is my one wish because I have had experience and it is not very good feeling that comes out of racism and because many people die from racism so lets all stop racism.

Outsiders Entry For Chapter 9-12.

Hey its me again In this post I’m going to talk about friendship and During the book him and Johnny have many bonding adventures and they end up know more about themselves than they ever did before which to me is very important. The reason that having friends is so important is because they teach you things that you never could have learned on your own. Friends are your shoulder to cry on and they care for you if they are a true friend. I know when I have a true friend because I will say some thing that is important to me and they will give an honest opinion. You will know when it is an honest opinion because it will either be helpful or they will say what they think about the thought. The THE OUTSIDERS 5-8 ENTRY

This time I’m going to talk about the socs. The socs where  gang of rich kids from the west side of town who thought that they were top of the line people and that greasers were bottom of the line. Most of the socs threw beer bashes for fun some drove around town looking for trouble.  One of the times they beat up a greaser they beat up Johnny he’s pony’s best friend. He was beaten up by Bob (Robert cherry’s boyfriend). When they had found Johnny he was lying in a vacant field and his face was as purple as heck because of the bruises.  When they had managed to fix and clean him up they finally got the answer of who had beaten him up and it was Bob. Then closer to the middle Johnny and Pony meet up with Bob and the reason Johnny knows it is Bob is because of his rings he had told the rest of the gang that the guy who b eat him up wore lots of rings. I think that Bob got what he deserved I mean like he tried to drown the main character when apart of the gang was their I don’t think that he would just let him drown his friend he would try to save him and I mean he did have a switch blade and he had the opportunity to kill him so why not take the chance. When I think of the word socs I think of really stuck up kids who are spoiled beyond they wildest dreams and they take advantage of that by getting knives and cars but also getting every thing you want has some down sides because what do you do when your out of things to do you get more things and then before you know it your parents finally say NO and it is kind of like um what did you say. What exactly does that word mean I have never heard it in my life and all of the sudden their life falls apart because they didn’t get what they wanted. But that is just my opinion. The Outsiders responce journal entrie 1

So far in the book the outsiders we have met greasers and socs a gang of rich kids. But thats not what i’m going to talk about i’m going to talk about greasers and what they are.  The Greasers are the east side, middle- and lower-class poor kids. They wore leather jackets and jeans. They slicked their hair back to make it greasy and darker. They smoked weeds or cigarets and usually tried to stay out of fights. this is a picture of greasers

Greasers are a working class youth subculture that originated in the 1950s among young eastern and Southern United States street gangs, and then became popular among other types of people. In the 1950s and early 1960s, these youths were known as hoods. Their name came from their greased back hair, which involved combing back hair with wax, gel, creams, tonics or pomade. Other popular greases used were olive oil or petroleum jelly. Some greasers worked at gas stations or shops that repaired cars or motorcycles. The greaser style was imitated by many youths not associated with gangs, as an expression of rebellion. The term greaser reappeared in later times as a popular culture. Clothing items typically worn by greasers have included: Sir Guy shirts, white or black T-shirts often with the sleeves rolled up white A-shirts as outerwear ringer T-shirts, Italian knit shirts Daddy-O-style shirts; black, blue or khaki work jackets, black or brown trenchcoats, Levi denim jackets; leather jackets gray or black waist-length Cabretta leather jackets quilted work jackets blue or black Levi jeans with rolled-up cuffs anywhere from one to four inches and baggy cotton twill work trousers which were called baggie grays, baggie blues or sandbags. Here is some cars they drive. Thunderbird sometimes they take the bus, and usually they walk.  But most of them drove mustangs and souped up old cars.

First 8 days post

On my first eight days of school I had homework every day and I had homework club.  We have a new kid. His name is Timothy he has a little brother named Adam they are the only kids in their family. We had an artist in our school this week he taught every body from grade 7 to 12 and we only had a week to learn our moves. Me and 3 other boys from my class when for the advanced class it started out as us four and the grew in to nine kids we only had three days to learn our stuff it was fun because on friday we had a concert for the school and parents. Everybody did great especially the advanced if I do say so my self.

The artist also had a band and could act in fact he stared in a Warner Bros. movie. He was cool but yet strict enough to keep 28 kids in line. Now that would be hard but it was worth it because everybody loved the show. My parents came and watched and so did my two sisters one of my sisters was performing herself. My dad was joking about my dancing and how he could do better but I don’t think so you have to be really fit not that my dad’s fat but he couldn’t handle the moves because I could barelly handle the moves.

Hello I haven’t written since March I’m now 13 years old and I still live in Snow lake Mb. I now have a bigger class than last year we have 28 kids that’s a lot of  kids in one class room. I’m now in grade 8 and I have the same teacher but I sit beside a new kid his name is Ben also. He is the brother of Hien he sat beside me last year and he moved up to grade 9 and I now sit beside Ben. Ben moved here from South Africa with his family. I don’t quite know why they moved to such a small town but they did. My best friends Aaron and Ben are in my class so we can talk a lot but we also made a homework club only the three of us have gone. We have met four times now since half way through september. Thatis all for now bye.
